The aim of Club Ciclistico Cremonese 1891 consists in directing young people towards sport from primary school age, favouring the social and educational aspects linked to sports activities rather than exasperated competition or competitiveness. You can talk of competition only when an athlete has developed and shows the necessary ability and attitudes, but without ever losing sight of the educational aspect.
The 2011 season of Club Ciclistico Cremonese 1891 opened with a clear renewal of the technical and organisation set-up which reinforced the intention of favouring the practice of cycling in particular at a young age.
The intention is to further increase the pool of youngsters available so as to be able to face the older categories in a few years time.
The categories currently represented are the giovanissimi (7/12 years), esordienti (13/14 years) and allievi (15/16 years).
In the early 2011 races the athletes Giovanni Pedretti and Ettore Musoni, from the allievi category, were particularly outstanding.
Various races were organized in early 2011 : the one that stands out most is the 45th Port Circuit. This year the race saw about 200 cyclists at the starting line and who straightaway took the race to an impressive rhythm, as shown by the average speed which after 48 kilometers was about 47.20 km/h and stabilized at the finish at a record 47.422 km/h.
Victory went to Christian Rossi, who now races with the Casati Team but grew up in the white and red colours of the club, behind him came Dalle Stelle (Trevigiani Team) and in third place another athlete who has written pages in the history of Club Ciclistico Cremonese 1891, Edoardo Costanzi, now in the Trevigiani Team.
But the Port Circuit was not the only important event for the club; on 5th June the classic Coppa Dondeo was held, this year reserved for the juniores category, while we should not forget the races of Sesto Cremonese, Pessina Cremonese, Sospiro and others.
