Activity
The main destinations of its generosity have concerned support for young people studying, with the setting up of scholarships for children of the Group’s employees, and contributions to schools and associations, the support of musical activity in Cremona Cathedral, the recovery of parts of the town’s artistic heritage (the Church of Saints Margherita and Pelagia has been fullly renovated and restoration work is under way on Palazzo dell'Arte with the Violin Museum), financial contribution to a refuge for children and young people in need in the Philippines, and more recently an education centre and day clinic in India in the Maharashtra region.
Besides this kind of generosity, cultural initiatives supported by the Foundation over the years have concerned commissions to authoritative research institutes for studies on the local economy and infrastructures, the sponsoring of historical and artistic events as well as cultural events and publications such as the Monteverdi celebrations and opera seasons.
The Group’s Cremonese companies also annually support and sponsor some athletics events and cycling and tennis activities mainly dedicated to young people.
