Process integration

Present in the Servola area of Trieste since the late 1800s, in 2014 the Trieste works became part of the Arvedi Group under the name Siderurgica Triestina.

In early 2017 all manufacturing operations at the site were placed under Acciaieria Arvedi.

The metallurgical complex has a production capacity of 800,000 tonnes per year.

The Trieste production site allows Acciaieria Arvedi to achieve two fundamental strategic goals:

  1. The construction of a cold metallurgical complex for the processing and finishing of hot rolled coils produced in Cremona into cold rolled high added value flat products, such as special steels destined for the automotive sector, cold rolled steels for general applications, galvanized and coated flat steel products;
  2. The realisation of an intermodal logistics platform which exploits the presence of a port quay both for the procurement of raw materials and the shipping by sea of the finished products.  The new logistics platform also allows optimal use of the railway for transferring both hot rolled products and raw materials destined for the electric furnaces in Cremona.
