The Arvedi Group and sport

For many years Giovanni Arvedi has paid particular attention to the development of sports activities, mainly juvenile ones, recognizing the role that sport has in developing personal relationships and growing up.

A commitment which, in 2013, earned Mr Arvedi the Gold Star award for sporting merit from CONI (the Italian Olympic Committee).

Friendship, solidarity, loyalty, collaboration, respect of rules and competition are values which belong both to the world of sport and the world of business. Inspired by the same values, the Arvedi Group for years has been in the front line to financially support clubs and events in various areas of sport.

Cremona Sportiva came into being in 1977 and adopted its current name ten years later with the entry into the club’s management of Giovanni Arvedi as honorary Chairman.

The aim of Cremona Sportiva is above all the introduction to sport of children of primary school age, favouring the social and educational aspects linked to sports activities rather than exaggerated competitiveness. Competition may be considered only when the athletes are already developed, should they show the necessary ability and attitude without losing sight of educational aspects.

Founded in 1903, the glorious grey-red club was acquired by Giovanni Arvedi in 2007. Through the constant engagement on the part of the owner, within a short time it once again became an irreplaceable point of reference for the whole football sector, both at a provincial and national level.

The advanced structures of the “Giovanni Arvedi” sports centre – which include two synthetic turf and three natural grass football fields – allow about 200 boys of the youth teams to train and grow up together in harmony in a high-level environment under the attentive eye of qualified technical staff and in close contact with the professional players of the Top team, which passed into the B series at the end of the 2016-2017 season.

The glorious Cremonese cycling club, founded in 1891, since 2006 has joined its historical name to that of the Arvedi Group. The club’s main objective is the introduction of young children to the sport of cycling, focusing on the educational aspects of aggregation and fun. The teams of Ccc 1891-Gruppo Arvedi compete in various junior age groups.

Thanks to the vital collaboration with tens of volunteers, the club organises various events among which the Port Circuit – Arvedi Trophy, an international competition reserved for the Elite/under 23 category, first raced in 1967.
