Company Profile

e innovativa espressione della moderna siderurgia The most advanced and innovative expression of modern steelmaking In operation since 1992, it is Europe’s first and the world’s second mini-mill for the manufacture of flat rolled steel. The compactness and speed of the production cycle allow extraordinary flexibility and a high level of service. It is a very modern industrial works in terms of technological, environmental and ergonomic conception and can be defined as a new system for steel manufacturing. The manufacturing process, based on the innovative Arvedi ISP and ESP technologies, allows liquid steel from the melt shop to be transformed into ultrathin hot rolled coils of the best quality and at competitive costs in a single, extremely compact cycle. Acciaieria Arvedi in Cremona produces over 3.5 million tpy of coils. The product mix is directed towards both thin and ultrathin gauges and quality steels. The former are produced in gauges down to 0.8 mm with precision and surface characteristics such as to compete with and replace cold rolled material; the quality steels are destined for the construction sector, re-rolling and cold forming. More specifically, high strength micro-alloyed, boron and multi-phase steels are directed towards heat treatment such as case-hardening and tempering and automotive applications.
