AcciaieriaArvedi goes EMAS

After a long audit phase, lasting more than one year, the Cremona site of AcciaieriaArvedi got the EMAS Eco-Management and Audit Scheme certification.

This certification, promoted by the European Union, is granted to companies that adhere on voluntary basis to a strict  standard protocol in assessing and  documenting their environmental performances and in accordingly informing institutions, the  public and relevant stakeholders.

The Cremona plant has obtained EMAS certification for the entire production process, ranging from scrap management to the finishing processes of our products.

The priority of EMAS is promoting environmental awareness and the development of a  management system aiming at a sustainable economic development: it  highlights Company’s role and responsibility in monitoring its own environmental performances with the goal not only to respect relevant standards and mandatory laws but to define  a roadmap of continuous and transparent improvement.

The environmental management system required by the EMAS standard is based on ISO 14001:2004 norm and imposes to publish and periodically update an Environmental Declaration document including all information and data relevant to company’s environmental impact with specific reference to energetic efficiency, use of raw materials, applied water cycle, waste material management, impact on biodiversity and all kind of emissions.

The award of EMAS certification represents for AcciaieriaArvedi a public recognition confirming our engagement about quality of the environment and certifies the accuracy and transparency of the information we make public about our performances.
