The Italian steel maker Acciaieria Arvedi and the German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz AG today have signed in Cremona, at Finarvedi headquarter, a cooperation agreement for the supply of Arvzero, the sustainable steel produced starting from recycled material (ferrous scrap) and with electric power 100% from renewable sources.
“Arvzero” is a steel produced using innovative technology, the fruit of over 30 years of study, research and development, based on an electric furnace production cycle, charged with scrap and based on the Arvedi ISP/ESP Technology. By applying the principle of the circular economy, i.e. starting from recycled material (ferrous scrap) and using electric power 100% from renewable sources, it achieves the goal of sustainable steel.
Over the years Acciaieria Arvedi has managed to reach high levels of environmental sustainability, in particular by decarbonizing the steel production cycle, and is therefore able to be a reliable partner for all those companies which intend to create a green supply chain.
“The cooperation with Mercedes-Benz AG”, said Cav. Giovanni Arvedi, Chairman of Finarvedi , “represents for us a significant international recognition of our commitment in technological innovation to produce sustainable steel.
