On May 9th, 2023 during the Made in Steel 2023 exhibition at fieramilano Rho, Arvedi Group launched Arvzero.
Arvzero is the carbon steel produced by Acciaieria Arvedi at its Cremona works and processed at its Cremona and Trieste works.
It is a circular steel, coming from recycled scrap, and ZERO WASTE because more than 90% of the waste generated by the production process is recovered, contributing to the reduction of climate-changing gases - Purpose 1 and Purpose 2 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Arvzero is produced and managed in such a way that all the emissions directly dependent on its production are fully compensated. These are managed through voluntary VCS carbon credits issued by the leading international standard authority VERRA in forestry projects located in Brazil, China and Indonesia.
In addition, Arvzero has obtained from RINA SERVICES, an internationally accredited third-party Testing, Inspection and Certification organization, a certificate of compliance with the requirements of the regulations document "PROCEDURE COIL NZE SCOPE 1-2". This enables Acciaieria Arvedi to supply carbon steel simultaneously issuing the Carbon Neutral certificate for all the types and processes of steel produced.
The company has achieved this result thanks to a massive decarbonization plan for the entire organization launched in 2018 in front of large-scale investments in plants, technology and R&D, with initiatives such as the industrial reconversion of the hot area of the Trieste site, completed in just two years.
